Undergraduate Academic Program
The Howard University NASA University Research Center is designed to assist undergraduate students in developing the educational skills and learning strategies that will help guarantee their success in the STEM fields.
As a result of NASA’s funding, undergraduate students who attend Howard will benefit from a unique combination of academic, financial, and social support programs.
The Beltsville Center for Climate System Observation provides financial support for qualified individuals seeking undergraduate degrees in:
- Physics
- Atmospheric Science
- Chemistry
- Electrical Engineering
Qualified undergraduate students may receive a stipend for the academic school year which affords the opportunity to participate in research, experimental design and data acquisition with state of- the-art instruments at the Howard University Beltsville Research Campus.
Examples of research projects include impacts of air pollution on ecosystems, lidar-based wind and water vapor remote sensing, cloud condensation characteristics of aerosols, and gas and aerosol transport in the atmospheric boundary layer, weather forecasting.
